LegadelXtra has been created, to support schools with all areas of the EHCP application process. We are aware that schools in our community are experiencing significant challenges in the request for an EHCP assessment and some schools have expressed a need for support in and around this process. In spite of the low threshold being, it is all too common for a request to be turned down which has a major impact on the offer of support to that child and on their future development and outcomes.

We have long felt there is a need to support SENDCOs navigating through this time-consuming process successfully. So we will now be extending our services to offer a holistic EHCP advice and support service, guiding schools through the process.

The process to request an assessment is a significant amount of work and can feel insurmountable. LegadelXtra will be facilitated by Rivka Steinberg our EHCP liaison advisor who has trained with IPSEA, previously worked closely with Barnet Educational professionals and has many years of lived experience. She also has passion and commitment for SEND improvement in schools. Rivka will offer support with all areas of the EHCP process, from the initial EHC needs assessment request through to checking the EHCP draft before it is finalised.

• Reviewing documentation
